asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many prosecutions for speeding with heavy and light motor vehicles, respectively, were made in Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court during the first six months of 1949; and the number of cases in each class reported by the police in which no action was taken.

Mr. McNeil

There were 16 prosecutions for speeding with motor vehicles in the Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court during the first six months of 1949: nine were in respect of heavy vehicles and seven in respect of light vehicles. No action was taken in respect of one light vehicle reported by the police.
