§ 52. Mr. Donnerasked the Minister of Defence whether, in view of the flanking support to be given by the United States Sixth Task Fleet in the Mediterranean to General Eisenhower, he will state what progress has now been made towards agreement with the United States on Mediterranean naval command.
§ Mr. ShinwellA measure of agreement has been reached on one aspect of this difficult problem relating to General Eisenhower's southern flank and it is hoped to make an announcement shortly. The wider problem of command in the Mediterranean generally is still under discussion.
