HC Deb 04 July 1951 vol 489 c224W
78. Major Beamish

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will discuss with the Hong Kong and Indian Governments means whereby they can stop goods from India and other countries, considered by the United Nations as unsuitable for export to China, and destined for Communist China from using the facilities of Hong Kong harbour.

Mr. Dugdale

My right hon. Friend is already in consultation with the Governor of Hong Kong on this matter. Discussions with the Government of India do not of course, fall within my right hon. Friend's sphere, but the hon. and gallant Member has a Question down for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations on this subject.
