asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty how many men, other than Royal Fleet Reservists, have been retained in the service after completion of their contracted term of service.

Five thousand two hundred and forty-seven R.N. ratings and Royal Marines other ranks have been retained up to 15th February.
