HC Deb 28 February 1951 vol 484 c289W
Surgeon Lieut.-Commander Bennett

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty when he expects to start payment of compensation to those who have suffered loss of or damage to property in consequence of the heavy explosion of ammunition at Bedenham in 1950.

Mr. W. Edwards

Approximately 5,000 claims have been received, of which 4,900 have already been settled. It is expected that all outstanding claims will be settled before the end of March. If the hon. and gallant Member has any particular case in mind, I shall be glad to look into it.
