§ 51. Mr. G. Longdenasked the Minister of Defence what is the position of men who have signed on with a Service for short terms and whose contracts are about to expire.
§ Mr. ShinwellMen serving on short service engagements will be retained beyond the expiry of their periods of service in the same way as those serving on normal Regular engagements, that is, for not longer than 18 months in the Navy, 12 to 18 months in the Army, and 12 months in the Royal Air Force.
