HC Deb 05 February 1951 vol 483 c167W
Major Hicks-Beach

asked the Minister of Food whether he is satisfied that sufficient stocks of rationed food will be available during the period of the Festival of Britain to ensure that the influx of visitors will not cause a reduction in the allocation to the public.

Mr. Webb

No reduction in rations will be necessary for this reason. Less than 0.1 per cent. of the ration requirements of the United Kingdom for the Festival period would be needed for every million visitors for every week they stayed.
