HC Deb 05 February 1951 vol 483 cc162-3W
63. Squadron Leader Kinghorn

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he intends to impose restrictions on the movements of members of the Hungarian Legation in retaliation for the restrictions recently imposed on members of foreign missions in Budapest.

Mr. Younger

Yes. The Hungarian Minister has been informed that he and all Hungarian members of his staff and their dependants, as well as visiting members of the Hungarian Foreign Service, will in future be required to obtain permission from the Foreign Office for all journeys beyond a distance of 18 miles from Hyde Park Corner. Such permission will be refused if the administration of the corresponding restrictions in Hungary renders this desirable.
