Mr. Wheatley

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many houses are in the course of erection by the Edinburgh Corporation at the present time, and the dates when such houses were allocated and tenders approved, respectively; how many houses have been allocated to the said local authority for which tenders had been approved but not begun and the dates of the allocations and approval of tenders thereof, respectively; and how many houses have been allocated to the said local authority and for which tenders have not yet been submitted, and the dates of the allocation thereof.

Following is the reply:

(1) On 23rd November, 1951, 1,789 houses were under construction. The dates on which the houses were allocated and the tenders approved were as follows:—
