HC Deb 02 August 1951 vol 491 c219W
Mr. Bossom

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, as both the owners and drivers of taxi-cabs in London are losing money since the introduction of the new schedule of fares, and the public will suffer in consequence, if he will call a meeting of the interested parties with the object of finding a remedy for this situation.

Mr. Ede

I have received no representations from the organisations representing cab owners and drivers that the recent increase in fares has had the effect suggested by the hon. Member, and I can see no useful purpose in calling a meeting at the present time.
