HC Deb 02 August 1951 vol 491 cc238-9W
80. Mr. G. P. Stevens

asked the Minister of Labour which Government Departments and nationalised industries have sent him details of their plans for retaining their employees after the age of 65 years in suitable cases.

Mr. Robens

I would refer the hon. Member to the answers given by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer on 24th July and by me on 5th June to similar questions. The House will be aware that I have invited the Civil Service, the nationalised industries and both sides of industry to review their arrangements for retaining workers beyond the normal ages of retirement. They have all promised their co-operation and are reviewing their practices.
