§ 79. Mr. Russellasked the Minister of Labour when he hopes to be able to find suitable employment for Colonel H. E. H. Glenn, 9 Waverley Avenue, Wembley, a former officer in the Indian Army.
§ Mr. RobensSince Colonel Glenn was placed in temporary Government employment in September, 1950, the London Appointments Office has endeavoured to find him a more suitable post. These efforts will be continued, but I cannot, of course, forecast when they will be successful.
§ Mr. Ian Harveyasked the Minister of Labour whether he will reconsider his decision to call up Mr. D. A. Botwright, of 30 Crawshott Avenue, Stanmore. Middlesex, for military service in view of the considerations of which he has been informed by the hon. Member for Harrow. East.
§ Mr. RobensThe Military Service (Hardship) Committee refused to renew this young man's certificate of postponement of call-up, but I am appealing to the Umpire against this decision.
§ Miss Hornsby-Smithasked the Minister of Labour when he anticipates that it will be possible to find suitable employment for Mr. A. F. Baynes, of 97 Leesons Hill, St. Paul's Cray, Orpington.
§ Mr. RobensEvery effort is being made to place Mr. Baynes in suitable employment, but I am afraid it is not possible to say when the right type of work will be found.
