HC Deb 19 April 1951 vol 486 cc192-3W
Mr. Alport

asked the Secretary of State for War what steps are being taken to ensure that news of British prisoners of war taken by the Communist forces in Korea are immediately notified to British forces in the Far East and to their families at home.

Mr. Strachey

Names of British prisoners of war in North Korean or Chinese hands have so far been received only from unofficial sources or from the questioning in the Far East of returned prisoners of war. In all cases the next of kin are immediately informed and notification is made to the appropriate authorities in the Far East.
