§ 59. Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of Food what has been done to secure a general improvement in the conditions of slaughterhouses which were described as unsatisfactory in the recent Report of the Departmental Committee on Export and Slaughter of Animals; how soon the findings of this Committee as to central control and supervision will be carried out; and whether it is his intention to provide slaughterhouses for horses killed for human consumption.
§ Mr. WebbThese aspects of the Report of the Departmental Committee on the Export and Slaughter of Horses are being examined, in relation to slaughterhouse policy generally, but I cannot make any statement at present.
