HC Deb 11 April 1951 vol 486 cc89-90W
Mr. Shepherd

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation whether it is intended to operate a London—Manchester air service; and, if so, whether he will give the date of the commencement.

Mr. Beswick

It is understood that one of the two private companies authorised to operate scheduled services between Manchester and London under associate agreement with British European Airways intends to provide a service on Saturdays from 5th May. The other company has now withdrawn its interest in the route. Applications from other companies to provide services on this route will, if forthcoming, be considered in the normal way.
