HC Deb 11 April 1951 vol 486 c81W
80. Mr. Joynson-Hicks

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is aware of the losses of gear which the local fishermen continue to sustain as a result of ships traversing the fishing grounds by the Owers lightship; and if he will now have the grounds charted.

Mr. Callaghan

Yes. I have considered the hon. Member's proposal but as the Channel Pilot, Part I, informs mariners that crab and lobster pots are set in the area during the summer months, I do not think that marking the grounds on Admiralty charts would have any greater effect.
