§ 71. Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what reply he intends making to the memorandum, on the methods by which rearmament should be financed, that he has received from the Association of British Chambers of Commerce.
§ Mr. GaitskellIt would be contrary to normal practice to send a detailed reply to this memorandum. The matters which it covers will clearly have to be considered from all points of view in the coming months, and in the preparation of next year's Budget.
