HC Deb 19 May 1950 vol 475 cc193-5W
Mr. Harold Davies

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish a table, similar in terms to Table 6 in last year's White Paper, Command Paper No. 7649, Company Profits and Dividends, also a table showing private income from work and property before and after tax.

Sir S. Cripps

The recent White Paper on National Income and Expenditure (Cmd. 7933) contains a table (Table 16) similar to, though not quite identical with, Table 6 of Cmd. 7649. The second table for which the hon. Member asks is given below:

the Occupying Powers are issued in most West European countries by Allied High Commission permit offices and not by consulates. There are offices in London, Paris, Brussels, The Hague, Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Berne. Permits to enter Austria are issued by branch offices of the Combined Travel Board to nationals of the Occupying Powers who apply in Germany. These are at Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hannover, Kiel, Berlin, Munich, Weisbaden, Stuttgart, Bremen and Baden-Baden. I have no evidence that the issue of permits by these permit offices and branch offices takes more than two or three days in ordinary cases.
