HC Deb 19 May 1950 vol 475 c195W
Mr. Granville

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that the 25 miles limit imposed upon small hauliers in Suffolk is creating severe hardship and conditions of unfair competition; and if he will consider amending the present regulations.

Mr. Barnes

The 25-mile limit was imposed by Section 52 of the Transport Act, 1947, and applies to the whole country. It was fully considered when the Transport Bill was before Parliament and I see no reason for amending legislation.
