asked the Minister of Health how many persons in England and Wales have contracted smallpox in the last five years; and what percentage of these were successfully vaccinated within a period of three years prior to contracting the disease.

The number of cases in the years 1945 to 1949 was 146. It will take time to get out the vaccination history of all these cases, but I will let the hon. Member know as soon as I can.
