HC Deb 04 May 1950 vol 474 c215W
Mr. Hylton-Foster

asked the Minister of Health what steps he has taken and proposes to take to ensure that former electricity employees now holding appointments in the National Health Service whose superannuation rights are preserved under the Electricity (Pensions Rights) Regulations, 1948, should be credited in the National Health Service (Superannuation) scheme with their full superannuation benefits in cases where the employees were transferred from the service of a local authortiy to an area board of the British Electricity Authority on 1st April, 1948; and when such employees will be so credited.

Mr. Bevan

This matter primarily depends on the payment of transfer values by the Electricity Boards. I am ready to ensure that past service in these cases shall be credited in the Health Service Scheme as soon as the Electricity Boards can make the necessary arrangements. I understand the matter is not free from difficulty but I am in touch with the British Electricity Authority.
