HC Deb 04 May 1950 vol 474 c220W
117. Mr. Dye

asked the Minister of Health what action he is taking to remedy the shortage of water in many Norfolk villages that occurred last year and in many previous years.

Mr. Bevan

The local authorities are responsible for taking such measures as are practicable. Since 1945, I have approved 87 schemes for the county at an estimated cost of more than £3,300,000. Work has commenced on 66 schemes at an estimated cost of nearly £1,100,000; work on a further 18 schemes, at an estimated cost of £390,000, is expected to start this year.
