§ Mr. H. Nealasked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he is now able to report upon the progress of the experiments being made in underground gasification of coal.
§ Mr. P. Noel-BakerSome success has been achieved at Newman Spinney in igniting a coal seam underground and in producing combustible gas. Experience has been gained which should be of value when the time comes to plan a full-scale trial. In the meantime, the present experiments will go on.
