§ 82. Commander Nobleasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what instructions or advice are now given to builders of large buildings with regard to cellars or garages and their possible future use as shelters.
§ Mr. EdeThe implementation of the advice in the technical memorandum to which I referred in reply to a Question by the hon. Member on 2nd December, 1948, raised various difficult questions, including the availability of structural steel. These difficulties are, I understand, well on the way to removal and it is hoped to issue the necessary technical guidance at an early date.
