§ Mr. J. GriffithsThe Forest Department is developing a system of fire control involving the provision of a network of dry-season roads and a grid of fire-lines, and the establishment of small trained units, with fire-fighting equipment, in each danger area. It is proposed to invest those teams with powers to secure the co-operation of the public where additional help is needed. A survey of existing wells and the construction of new wells is also to be undertaken.
