§ Mr. GaitskellI am not sure what the hon. Member has in mind. Section 11 of the Finance Act, 1950, provides for the duty-free admission of goods which are imported for the purpose of examination or tests with a view to promoting or improving the manufacture in the United Kingdom of similar goods. A further scheme will shortly be introduced under whichbona fide trade samples required for the promotion of our export trade may be admitted free of duty and Purchase Tax.
