§ 44. Mr. R. Harrisasked the Minister of Transport what was the authority which in fact decided which of the 17,000 applications for original permits referred to in paragraph 16 of the Second Annual Report of the Transport Commission should be granted or refused.
§ Mr. BarnesThe British Transport Commission delegated this function, among others, to the Road Haulage Executive by schemes of delegation approved by me under Section 5 of the Transport Act, 1947.
§ Mr. McAddenasked the Minister of Transport how many of the 17,000 applications for original permits, referred to 6W in paragraph 16 of the Second Annual Report of the Transport Commission, have been granted; how many of those granted have been limited either as to distance or to traffic; how many were refused; and, of those granted, how many have now been revoked.
