HC Deb 04 April 1950 vol 473 c126W
87. Mr. N. Macpherson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that the proposals for salary increases for public health nurses and domiciliary midwives and nurses have been under consideration since July, 1949, and that a deadlock has arisen owing to the refusal of the management to entertain the proposals; and what steps he will take to bring these salaries into line with the recent increases in the salaries of hospital nursing staff.

Miss Herbison

As my right hon. Friend last week informed the hon. Member for Aberdeenshire, West (Mr. Spence), a claim for salary increases by nurses in these categories is at present awaiting arbitration by the Industrial Court.
