HC Deb 27 September 1949 vol 468 c1W
Mr. Granville

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will give an assurance to agriculturists that there will be no further cuts in the supply of feedingstuffs, in order to enable farmers to make plans for food production on the basis of a long-term plan.

Mr. T. Williams

The supply of feedingstuffs is largely dependent on a number of factors such as world weather, world harvests, the policies of overseas governments and the international financial situation, over which I have no control. The best assurance is that which farmers can give themselves by growing more of their own feedingstuffs.
