HC Deb 21 October 1949 vol 468 c76W
Mr. Palmer

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he has now reviewed administrative salaries in the Women's Land Army; and if, in view of the criticisms of these salaries, particularly of those for county organisers, where applicants who must own cars are offered £250 to £300 per annum, he contemplates an early alteration in the salary scale.

Mr. T. Williams

I regret that no general increase in the salaries of the administrative staff of the Women's Land Army can be contemplated at present. No full-time member of the staff is receiving less than £300 per annum, and most of the organisers are receiving £350 per annum.
