HC Deb 21 October 1949 vol 468 c76W
Mr. Granville

asked the Minister of Agriculture when he intends to carry out works in conjunction with the other Departments responsible for the defence of Walberswick against the encroachment of the sea.

Mr. T. Williams

The responsibility for maintaining or executing any necessary works to the sea defences of Walberswick rests on the East Suffolk Rivers Catchment Board. My Department have been in touch with the Board on this matter with a view to ensuring that all necessary work is undertaken as early as possible. The cost of such work (apart from the maintenance) would be eligible for substantial grant aid from the Ministry.
