Commander Maitlandasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that the register of electors due on 15th October has not yet been published by some authorities; and if he will take steps to ensure that similar delay does not take place when the register due in March, 1950, is published.
§ Mr. EdeI am aware that in a few areas there was some delay because of the printing difficulties which some electoral registration officers experienced, but my information is that the electoral registration officer for each constituency in England and Wales has now published the register. I have no doubt that every effort will be made to prevent similar delays in the spring.
