HL Deb 08 March 1949 vol 161 c222WA
THE EARL OF TANKERVILLE

asked His Majesty's Government whether any basic slag was exported from Great Britain during 1948 and, if so, what quantity, and what proportion of it was high-grade slag (14 per cent. phosphoric acid or over); and whether it is the intention of His Majesty's Government to permit further, or any, exports of basic slag during the current year.

LORD LUCAS OF CHILWORTH

Two thousand one hundred and seven tons of basic slag, all of 14 per cent. or higher phosphoric acid content, were exported during the year 1948. With the exception of a negligible quantity, all went to the Channel Islands. Further supplies will be allowed to be sent to the Islands during the current year.

House adjourned at ten minutes past five o'clock.
