asked the Minister of Transport what new road schemes it is proposed to start in Wales this year.

The principal road schemes in Wales and Monmouthshire upon which work has started since 1st January, 1949, or is likely to start during 1949, are as follows:

about £247,000. I am unable to say what further schemes will be approved and commenced during the year.
