HC Deb 02 March 1949 vol 462 c45W
75. Mr. Bartlett

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will consider the restoration by public subscription of H.M.S. "Implacable," and the return of the ship, when restored, to the French, from whom she was captured during the Napoleonic wars.

Mr. Dugdale

As indicated in the answer given to the hon. Member for Twickenham (Mr. Keeling) on 16th February, a plan for the future of this ship is now under examination. Should this fail, other suggestions can be considered.
