§ Mr. Piratinasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will now make a statement concerning the Government's intentions arising from the recommendations of the Gowers Committee Report.
§ Mr. EdeThe numerous recommendations in this Report relate to a considerable variety of subjects and concern a number of Government Departments, in varying degrees. As a necessary first step arrangements have been made for their detailed examination by the interested Departments, to assist the Ministers concerned to decide the further action to be taken as regards the various groups of recommendations.
