Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyreasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the undertaking given by His Majesty's Government under Article 10 (1) (c) of the Anglo-American Financial Agreement to scale down sterling balances, when His Majesty's Government propose to take the action there envisaged.
§ Sir S. CrippsThere is nothing in Article 10 of the Anglo-American Financial Agreement to suggest that sterling balances should be scaled down by unilateral action on the part of His Majesty's Government. His Majesty's Government will take action as soon as the other parties are prepared to agree.
