§ 25. Mr. Emrys Robertsasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he will now grant a supplementary allowance of petrol, for the purpose of rehearsals, to members of the choir of the Royal Welsh National Eisteddfod to be held at Dolgelley this year, having regard to the unique place of the Eisteddfod in the cultural life of Wales and the absence of adequate public transport facilities in the county of Merioneth.
§ Mr. GaitskellIt is intended that the standard petrol ration should be used for social and cultural activities, and I could not justify the grant of supplementary petrol for the purpose mentioned by the hon. Member.
