HC Deb 14 February 1949 vol 461 cc129-30W
Mr. Pryde

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will consider appointing a committee to inquire into the law relating to angling in fresh water in Scotland, with power to make recommendations as to the future control of the sport in Scotland.

Mr. Woodburn

As my hon. Friend is aware, I have set up a Committee to inquire into the illegal taking of salmon and trout in Scottish rivers. I would prefer to await this Committee's report before considering my hon. Friend's suggestion.
