§ 87. Mr. Gammansasked the Minister of Transport on what date he restricted the extension of the electrification of the London Transport 1935–40 new works programme; and if he is prepared to modify that decision in respect of the line between Finsbury Park and the Alexandra Palace in view of the fact that so much of the work has already been done.
§ Mr. CallaghanMy right hon. Friend has made no decision to suspend the London Transport 1935–40 new works programme. New works programmes generally were suspended following the outbreak of war. My right hon. Friend has recently received froth the British Transport Commission their views upon the proposals for rail passenger transport improvements put forward by the Railway (London Plan) Committee. The whole question, which involves this and many other works, is at present under consideration.
