HC Deb 14 February 1949 vol 461 c116W
30. Mr. Snadden

asked the Minister of Food if he is aware that farmers in Scotland, having responded to the Government's appeal for increased food production, now find that they are unable to dispose of their oats, barley and potatoes; and what steps he proposes to take to remedy this position.

Mr. Strachey

The hon. Member has been misinformed. Under the guarantee well known to farmers I am prepared to buy all the sound oats, barley and ware potatoes offered to my Department at the guaranteed prices.
