asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty the dates of entries to Dartmouth Naval College under A.F.O. 656/48 since the new scheme's inception; how many cadets were accepted with each entry; how many of these were listed for Executive, Engineering and Supply Branches respectively; what is the rate of application; what is the proportion of rejections; what were the main reasons for rejection; and whether he is satisfied with the progress and success of the scheme.

Entries to Dartmouth under the new scheme were made in September, 1948, and in January of this year. I give below the further information required about these entries and about the number of candidates for the entry in May next. As regards the
