Mr. Odeyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why there is a delay of several weeks before any acknowledgment or receipt is sent by the Special Commissioner of Income Tax for the Special Contribution instituted in the last Budget; and why no provision has been made to deal with these payments.
§ Mr. Glenvil HallI would refer the hon. Member to the reply which my right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer gave to the hon. Member for Scarborough and Whitby (Mr. Spearman) on 21st January. The arrear of acknowledgments should have been overtaken by the end of this week.
