§ Colonel Clarkeasked the Minister of Fuel and Power how many workers were involved in stoppages in the coal mining industry during January to October, 1948 and 1949, respectively; and how many working days have been lost as the result of these stoppages in the same periods.
§ Mr. IsaacsI have been asked to reply. In January to October, 1948, 171,300 workers in the coalmining industry were involved in industrial disputes causing stoppage of work, the number of days lost being 417,000. In January to October, 1949, the figures were 238,400 workers and 735,000 days lost.
