§ Mr. EdeThe Scientific Advisers Branch of the Home Office consists of a Chief Scientific Adviser and six other Scientific Officers whose total salaries amount to £7,893 per annum. The work of this branch is not limited to research connected with the effects of atomic warfare but covers the whole field of Civil Defence for which the Home Office is responsible.
