asked the President of the Board of Trade what new industries have been introduced into North Staffordshire since the end of the war; and what they represent in terms of employment of male and female labour.

New industries established in North Staffordshire since the war in redundant war factories, in new factories or in existing premises include the manufacture of electric motors, electric cables, agricultural implements, motor-vehicle components, domestic cookers, paint, surgical dressings, women's clothing and rubber toys. They are giving employment to some 1,900 men and 2,300 women.
