HC Deb 04 November 1948 vol 457 c105W
89. Mr. Wadsworth

asked the Minister of Education if he is aware that there is no secondary school in the Filey area of the East Riding of Yorkshire, and that children living in that area arc therefore penalised; and if he will take urgent steps to remedy this position.

Mr. Tomlinson

There is a secondary modern school in Filey which provides for the majority of the children from the area. Those who are selected for secondary grammar or technical courses go to schools at Bridlington and Scarborough. Improvements in the available facilities are required though not as urgently as in other parts of the county.
