HC Deb 04 November 1948 vol 457 c113W
106. Mr. John E. Haire

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the almost total cessation of work in furniture factories producing non-utility furniture made of metal, alloys and plastics; and what steps he proposes to take to effect an improvement.

Mr. H. Wilson

I am aware that demand has fallen off sharply for some types of non-utility furniture; and this may well have resulted in reduced production. I do not propose to take any steps in the matter.
