asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that British exporters to the Argentine have frequently to wait as long as six weeks for permission to transmit the money already paid by the importer; and if he will take steps to remove this obstacle to our overseas trade.

Yes. I am aware of these delays and representations have already been made about them. The Argentine authorities have given assurances that all sterling permits will be honoured and we shall continue our efforts to get the periods of delay reduced.
