§ Mr. Strachey: Itis not possible to make a reliable estimate of the domestic egg supply since the poultry census figures do not include birds on holdings of less than one acre. On a very approximate estimate about one-half of the supply is reaching the shops, the greater part of the balance being consumed by the producers or disposed of direct to consumers under the regulations of the domestic poultrykeepers scheme.
